Takakuni Inoue
Graduated from the Faculty of Letters at Keio University in 1973. Worked for the Japan Foundation for 32 years until 2005. During this time, he served as the Director of the Paris Office, Exhibition Department Manager, and Triennale Director, planning exhibitions both domestically and internationally. Notable international exhibitions he was involved in include the "Kofukuji Exhibition" at Petit Palais in Paris, the "3000 Years of Japanese Art Exhibition" in Rome, and the "Hundred Years of Nihonga Exhibition" at the St. Louis Art Museum in the USA. In the field of contemporary art, he was responsible for Japan's participation in the Venice Biennale and the São Paulo Biennale. After organizing the "Yokohama Triennale 2005," he retired from the Japan Foundation and served as the Director of the Mie Prefectural Art Museum until 2013. During his tenure as director, he contributed to the drafting and enactment of the "Act on the Promotion of the Implementation of International Cultural Exchange Festivals," which aimed to hold full-scale international art festivals in Japan.
