Artist Statement
ぬいぐるみを通じて人間の複雑な関係性と相反する要素を探究します。私たちの社会は、常に複雑に絡み合った関係性の中で存在し、立場が簡単に逆転してしまうことがあります。そこでは「食べると食べられる」「被害者と加害者」「着ると着られる」「かわいいとこわい」といった対照的な要素が存在します。「ぬいぐるみが人間をまとうのか」、それとも「人間がぬいぐるみをまとうのか」その境界が交錯する瞬間に、ぬいぐるみの存在が私たち自身の内面を映し出す鏡となることを期待しています。
I explore complex human relationships and contradictory elements through stuffed animals. Our society always exists in a complex intertwined relationship, and positions can easily be reversed. There are contrasting elements such as "if you eat, you will be eaten'', "victim and perpetrator'', "if you wear something, you will be worn'', and "cute and scary''. I hope that the existence of stuffed animals will serve as a mirror that reflects our inner selves at the moment when the boundaries between "A stuffed animal disguises itself as a human'' or "A human being disguises itself as a stuffed animal?'' are intersected.
