Picasso・Switch
Exhibition Area / Place
Shopping Arcade / Higashimachi Fureai Hiroba
Exhibition Plan Summary
Using a fairy door as a motif, you can wander into a mysterious world and peer into it...
Children and adults alike will want to know what's on the other side of a small door.
If such a work suddenly appears in the place where you always play or look at it...
The usual park where children play becomes extraordinary with artwork.
I want to create a space as a "fairy labyrinth" that will become a great seed for imagination.

It was born in 2012 as a group led by Atsushi Nakaso (lecturer at Kyoto University of Arts) and made up of members from various genres that engage in activities that connect children, art, and society.
Among the many exhibitions and workshops held, we plan and produce many works with the motif of "fairy doors."
We continue to create a free artistic environment that expands children's imaginations, creates the spaces and opportunities they want to create, and allows adults and society to enjoy and respect children's works.
Artist Statement
Picasso.switch is a group designed to create works that connect children, art, and society.
There is a wide variety of contemporary art, and while some wonderful works are produced, they are often difficult to understand or lack empathy, which often alienates them from the general public.
Therefore, the joy of creating and the joy of expressing...the curiosity that has existed since the beginning of time, we want children, adults and society who are not normally aware of art to know that art and creation are all around us, and remove high barriers. We continue to create ``seeds of imagination'' by planning and producing works that we can move forward with, and by creating them ourselves.
