Artist Statement
私が作る陶の彫刻は「トリックスター」と呼ばれています。
彼らは、人間が見ること、触れること、交流することが難しい異形の存在です。
そんな彼らに実体を与え、彫刻としてこの世に現すことが私の仕事だと思っています。
三本足で、真っ黒な体をしたトリックスターは、様々な姿形をしています。
ヒョコヒョコと歩いている奴もいれば、ちょこんと座ってこちらをジッと見ている奴もいます。
少し不気味で、ちょっと可愛い彼らの姿を通じて、身の回りに潜む「非日常」を覗き見て欲しいと思っています。
The ceramic sculptures I make are called "Tricksters".
They are strange beings that are difficult for humans to see, touch, or interact with.
I believe it is my job to give them substance and bring them into the world as sculptures.
The three-legged, all-black Trickster has a variety of shapes.
Some are walking around, while others are just sitting there staring at me.
Through their slightly eerie and slightly cute appearances, I hope that viewers will be able to take a peek into the ``extraordinary'' that lurks around us.
